Responsibilities:
Plan, organize and implement an appropriate instructional program in a learning environment that guides and encourages students to develop and fulfill their academic potential, including but not limited to:
- Setting rigorous yet appropriate learning outcomes
- Establish supportive relationships with students
- Engage students in meaningful, developmentally appropriate, real-world discussions and learning activities
- Develop authentic and aligned assessments to measure student growth and inform instructional decisions, especially pertaining to students with special needs or exceptionalities
- Develop plans (IEPs, behavior intervention plans, service plans etc.) that are data-based and support the growth and development of students
- Collaboratively work with team to fulfill the mission, vision and beliefs of both the schools and the district
Certification Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Louisiana certified; type `A,’ `B’ OR `C’ – OR- LEVEL 1, 2 OR 3 in Special Education, Academically Gifted, or the Talented Arts–Visual, Theatre, Music
- Knowledge of instructional methodologies of students with disabilities and/or exceptionalities and Bulletins 1706/1508
- Experience in writing and implementing IEPs and Behavior Plans
