Adult Education Registration & Orientation

We are dedicated to helping you earn your high school equivalency (HSE). The minimum age to enter the program is 16. RPCC offers three pathways to completing your HSE:

• HiSET exam (minors students are required to take this pathway)
  • The HiSET exam is made up of five sections:
    • Math
    • Reading
    • Science
    • Social Studies
    • Writing
  • This is a fee-based test.
• Accuplacer
  • The Accuplacer is made up of three sections:
    • English
    • Math
    • Reading
  • This is a fee-based test.
• Integrated Career Pathways
  • This is a co-enrollment pathway where students are enrolled in Adult Education and technical program courses. Students get their HSE while also working on a technical certificate.
  • Current Technical Program Offerings
    • Certificate of Technical Studies – A/C & Refrigeration: Domestic
    • Certificate of Technical Studies – Instrumentation Helper
    • Certificate of Technical Studies – Medical Assistant
    • Certificate of Technical Studies – Welding
  • All pathways are not offered at all campuses.
  • This pathway does not require taking the HiSET or Accuplacer; however, minimum English, Math, and Reading learning levels are required.

Graduation

All students that complete their HSE pathway are invited to participate in the annual River Parishes Community College graduation ceremony in May.

 

Enrollment Requirements:

• Valid photo ID
• Minors (ages 16 and 17) must have a completed and signed Waiver Request and Process for Exiting School form obtained from the last school district enrolled.
  • If homeschooled, the homeschool approval letter is required that indicates at least six months of homeschool enrollment.
