Northshore Technical Community College Graduates Its Largest Class

Lacombe, LA – Northshore Technical Community College (NTCC) celebrated its annual commencement exercises on Monday, May 23, 2022 at University Center on the campus of Southeastern Louisiana University. Collectively, the graduating class of 2022 represents 539 graduates. Additionally, a total of 1,286 credentials was earned by 650 students during the 2021-2022 academic year. Those numbers represent NTCC’s largest graduating class with its origins dating all the way back to 1930, as the Sullivan Trade School in Bogalusa, LA.

NTCC Chancellor, Dr. William Wainwright, praised the graduates for their investment of time and hard work, and he encouraged them to uplift their communities going forward. “As we emerge from the Pandemic, never before has the success of Northshore Technical Community College graduates been so important to our communities. Our graduates represent critical thinkers, problem solvers, highly skilled technicians, and leaders who will play an essential role in strengthening our economies,” said Dr. Wainwright.

This year’s Commencement Speaker, Dr. Tina Holland President of Franciscan Missionaries of our Lady University said, “I am honored to celebrate with these graduates and their families. They represent the kind of grit and spirit that characterizes Louisiana. They are building bright futures for themselves, their families and our state and I congratulate each and every one of them.”

The 2022 commencement was the first in-person ceremony since 2019. The 2020 and 2021 Commencements were held at individual campuses where the Chancellor individually conferred over 500 degrees to students in private ceremonies with families in attendance.
