The Strategies to Empower People (STEP) Vocational Education Program

The Strategies to Empower People (STEP) Vocational Education Program, funded by the Louisiana Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS), awards payment of postsecondary tuition and up to $300 for books and fees each semester to eligible recipients of the Family Independence Temporary Assistance Program (FITAP).

Standard Eligibility

Students Must:

  1. Receive FITAP assistance; and
  2. Be approved by Department of Children and Family Services for participation in the STEP Vocational Education Program.

 

If you are a recipient of FITAP and are enrolled or plan to enroll in postsecondary education, request additional information regarding eligibility for STEP Vocational Education from your Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) counselor.
